Portland Parks & Recreation – Portland Parks & Recreation provides care to over 10,000 acres of parks and natural areas, and offers thousands of programs for all ages at its community centers, swim pools, and other recreation facilities.

Bureau of Environmental Services – Environmental Services provides Portland residents with water quality protection, watershed planning, wastewater collection and treatment, sewer installation and stormwater management.

South Portland Riverbanks Project – A partnership to restore and enhance habitat along the Willamette River.

South Portland Neighborhood Association – The NA represents many smaller neighborhoods in South Portland including Lair Hill, South Waterfront, Corbett, Johns Landing, Terwilliger and Fulton.

SW Neighborhoods, Inc. – Southwest Neighborhoods, Inc., (SWNI) is a nonprofit coalition that provides support services in seventeen Southwest Portland neighborhood associations and three business associations.

PSU MURP 2010 Workshop Project Links

PSU MURP Planning Workshop – In the Planning Workshop, students work in small groups to develop a project for a community client of their choice.

Reshaping the Planning AGEnda – Sage Places is working in Clackamas County to identify the current barriers to develop a training program that will improve older adults’ understanding of land use, transportation and housing issues and provide planners with recommendations for how they can better involve older adults in planning processes.

Roadway Not Improved – LARKE Planning is conducting investigation of unimproved streets in the Woodstock neighborhood of SE Portland. They seek to understand how these streets are used and perceived by Woodstock residents, and then to outline alternative options for community-based improvement strategies that will fit with residents’ values and city planning goals.

Oak Grove Community Connectivity and Center Plan – Foothill Planning Associates is a group of Portland State University students working with the Oak Lodge Community Council and Urban Green to create a Community Connectivity and Center Plan within the Oak Grove district of unincorporated Clackamas County, Oregon.

Harvesting Opportunity: A Strategic Vision for Farmworker Housing and Economic Opportunities in Washington County – Tierra Planning will craft a “strategic vision” to explore the feasibility of farmworker housing and economic development opportunities for farmworkers in Washington County. They will propose recommendations based on extensive research and outreach of how farmworker communities can be better tied in with economic opportunities in Washington County.

Gateway EcoDistrict Pilot Study – DistrictLab will be analyzing what sustainability issues matter most to Gateway and how a pilot EcoDistrict could address them.

Growing Zenger Farm – Growing Zenger Farm is a project by Ecotone to assess neighborhood needs, collect local input and develop a plan for the additional 4 acres that best serves the immediate Powellhurst-Gilbert and Lents neighborhoods. Additionally, this project will produce programmatic and policy recommendations for better supporting urban agriculture.
